A Case of Gro¡§nblad-Strandleberg Syndrome


Abstract
GIonblad-Strandberg syndrome is known as pseudoxanthoma elasticurn combined with both dermatologic and ocular manifestations.
Pseudoxanthoma elasticum is inherited disorder bringing about degenerative changes in elastic tissues of the skin, eye, gastrointestinal tract, and cardiovascular system. As dermatologic manifestations, there are soft, wrinkled, and lax skin and yellowish plaques typically located on the neck, axilla, perineum, antecubital region, popliteal fossa, and inguinal region. As ocular manifestations, angioid streaks appear ophthalmoscopically as a network o reddish brown streaks emanating from peripapillary ring of the same color and on FAG, h .-rfluorescently in the early phase and there may be choroidal neovascularization and he orrhagic serous detachment involving macula in sensory retina layer.
The author experienced a case of Gonblad-Strandberg syndrome found in a 42 year old Korean Woman.
